Jack Lisowski mourns father's death after withdrawing from World Grand Prix in Hong Kong

Jack Lisowski suffered personal tragedy during the World Grand Prix in Hong Kong with the Cheltenham-born player forced to withdraw from the event after the death of his father. Lisowski had been due to face world No. 1 Judd Trump in the last 16. "Last week, my Dad passed away, whilst walking up the hill on a sunny day," said Lisowski on Instagram. "He was one of my best friends and my idol."

Jack Lisowski was forced to withdraw from last week's World Grand Prix in Hong Kong after the death of his father.
The Gloucestershire professional was due to face Judd Trump in the last 16 of the ranking event at the city's Kai Tak Arena, but withdrew due to "personal reasons" with Trump handed a bye to the quarter-finals.
Lisowski posted a tribute to his dad on Instagram over the weekend explaining his reasons for pulling out.
"Last week, my Dad passed away, whilst walking up the hill on a sunny day," said the world No. 25.
"He was one of my best friends and my idol.
"The pain of losing him is hard to describe but I also feel so so lucky to have had him in my life for 33 years and spent so much time with him - especially the last few years.
"He showed me what unconditional love is and gave my sister, my mum and myself the best life imaginable.
"I took the first 3 photos with him last month and was going to put them up in a photo dump with other stuff eventually, but I guess this post is just for him now.
"Dad, there are no words I can use to do you justice. You were a f**** legend... until we meet again... Rest in peace."
World Grand Prix finalist Stuart Bingham said he was thinking of Lisowski during an emotional speech on Sunday.
Bingham lost 10-0 to Neil Robertson in the final, set against the backdrop of the death of his coach and uncle.
"I'd like to give a shout out to Jack Lisowski, feeling for you mate," said the 2015 world champion.
Several players have sent their condolences to Lisowski on social media, including close friend Trump, Mark Allen, Luca Brecel and Barry Hawkins.
"The absolute nicest person you'd ever meet... love you guys," said Trump.
Allen said: "Never got to meet him but, if he's anything like yourself he was an absolute gent, and I'm sure he's very proud of the young man you've become.
"Sending love to you and your family, mate."
Six-time ranking event finalist Lisowski has not qualified for next week's Players Championship (March 17-23) in Telford and is not set to return to competitive action until the World Championship qualifiers (April 7-16) next month.
