The 2025 Laver Cup will see Team World aiming to win back the trophy in San Francisco from September 19-21. Carlos Alcaraz starred at the 2024 Laver Cup in Berlin as Team Europe denied their counterparts a third straight victory. Who has been confirmed for the teams in 2025? Who might be added? The teams for the 2025 Laver Cup are starting to take shape.
The eighth edition of the Ryder Cup-style tournament will see Team World looking regain the trophy in San Francisco from September 19-21.
Team Europe claimed victory in thrilling fashion in Berlin last year, with Carlos Alcaraz playing a starring role.

Alcaraz is among the players who have already been confirmed for this year's iteration - one which will see new captains and vice captains on each team.
Alcaraz, Zverev lead Team Europe
The first two players confirmed on Team Europe are world No. 2 Alexander Zverev and world No. 3 Carlos Alcaraz.
Alcaraz was instrumental in Team Europe winning back the Laver Cup in Berlin, contributing to a record eight points, including beating Taylor Fritz in the decisive singles match.
"To have all the players I’m used to fighting against together, on the bench supporting me, sharing the same goal - to lift the trophy - is unique," he said upon his selection in December last year.
"I found it really motivating. I loved the Laver Cup energy, the environment, the atmosphere, and I can’t wait to be part of it again in San Francisco."

Zverev holds the record for the most Laver Cup appearances for Team Europe with five.
And the big question: will Alcaraz and Zverev be joined on the team by Novak Djokovic?
The 24-time Grand Slam champion has not contested the Laver Cup since 2022, when he teamed up with 'Big Four' members Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray.
The Serbian's participation has not yet been confirmed.
Fritz, Shelton on Team WorldÂ
Team World will be headlined by two stars from the United States - Taylor Fritz and Ben Shelton.
World No. 4 Fritz made his first Grand Slam final last year at the US Open, while Shelton started his 2025 season by reaching the Australian Open semis.
Both went undefeated the last time the Laver Cup was played in North America, in 2023.
"I love team events, it’s my favourite part about the Laver Cup," Shelton said.
"I've always loved the team spirit and camaraderie, being able to support guys on the bench and having the guys supporting me when I’m playing. That’s something that elevates my game."

Could Nick Kyrgios make a Laver Cup return this year?
The Australian, who made his injury comeback at the start of the season, last played at the event in 2021.
Like Djokovic, Kyrgios' status for the September showpiece is so-far unconfirmed.
New captains and vice captains
Both Team Europe and Team World will have new captains this year.
Bjorn Borg and John McEnroe captained the teams since the inaugural edition in 2017, but will be replaced by Yannick Noah on Team Europe and Andre Agassi on Team World.
There will also be fresh vice captains. Tim Henman will replace Thomas Enqvist for Team Europe, and Pat Rafter will take over from Patrick McEnroe as the Team World vice captain.

"Having watched the Laver Cup as a pundit and seeing first hand the intensity, the quality of tennis and the passion and interaction between the players on the bench, I know how special this event is.
"Being invited by Yannick to be part of the Laver Cup is a great honour, and I’m really looking forward to working alongside him and the team to continue Europe’s winning tradition."
