Jannik Sinner said a fast start was key as he cruised into the semi-finals of the Miami Open.
American Frances Tiafoe was no match at all for Sinner in the Miami sunshine on Thursday, as the Italian claimed his record-extending 29th and 30th consecutive sets at ATP Masters 1000 events and won 6-2 6-2 in just 71 minutes.
Four-time Grand Slam winner Sinner is looking in very decent form indeed before the European clay court swing, which will culminate with the French Open, live on TNT Sports and HBO Max.

Tiafoe netted a backhand as Sinner broke serve in the opening game of the match. Sinner then broke again to lead 4-1, before clinching the first set soon after.
The second set was just as comfortable for Sinner as he booked his place in the last four with a routine victory.
"I feel like starting the match is very important," Sinner said. "I feel like in every match, when you start with a break up, it gives you already a slightly good confidence at the same time.

"They might be very aggressive so I try to stay as compact as possible, you know, with my shots and also mentally, there can be some ups and downs from both sides so I try to be very calm and taking the chances I can get and I think that today was the key.
"I felt like I was serving quite well in the important moments. I thought he might be a bit tired because he has had tough matches here, so I tried to make it physical in the beginning and that helped for sure."
The majors will always be the main focus for Sinner and he will likely still be smarting after losing to Serbian great Novak Djokovic in the semi-finals of the Australian Open.

Sinner is looking to build up even more momentum right now and he will have his sights set on adding to his success at Indian Wells by winning this prestigious tournament this weekend.
"To be hungry I think it's quite natural," Sinner added. "Mentally you have to be, at least what I'm trying to do is to stay calm and relax also off the court because I've played very much a lot of tennis in the past three, four weeks with all the practise sessions and everything so yeah, trying to keep going.
"I know that this is my last tournament on hard court before going on clay, so I'm very happy to make at least the semis again and then we see how it goes."
